Conceivable…

Imagine Inigo Montoya from the Princess Bride sharing his faith with Vezzini (the Sicilian).  The conversation may go something like this.

Inigo:  Did you know that God loves you unconditionally?

Vezzini:  Inconceivable!

Inigo: He does.  Not only that, He knows you better than anyone else could ever know you and He loves you more than anyone else could ever love you.

Vezzini:  Inconceivable!

Inigo:  It’s true.  And no matter what you’ve done.  He loves you.  As a matter of fact, Christ knows all about my mistakes and He knew all about your mistakes when He willingly died on the cross to pay for those mistakes.

Vezzini:  Inconceivable!

Just then, Westley walks in.

Inigo:  Westley, will you tell Vezzini how someone can become a Christian?

Westley:  As you wish.  Romans 3:23 says we have all sinned.  Romans 6:23 says the payment for those sins is death.  And Romans 10:9-10 says that if we just confess our sins that God already knows about and paid for and if we believe in Jesus that He died for our sins, we can be saved.  It’s that easy.

Vezzini:  Inconceivable!

Inigo:  You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.  Not only is it conceivable, but God Himself conceived of this plan before time began and He is making it available to you no matter what your past has been, no matter what you have done or what you have believed.  God is available today because He loves you that much and He loves you so much that God can help you become the person He created you to be.
