We Matter to God…

Principle 2 in Celebrate Recovery says this…Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.

Those are three very important truths, but please focus on the middle part reminding you that you matter to God.

This morning I jotted down about 30 proofs that we matter to Him for myself and I want to encourage to do the same thing.  It was great for my soul and my attitude to think about ways that God shows how much I matter to Him.

But for now, I want to share something I never thought about before as it relates to how much I matter to God.

I’ve read that there are over 50 ‘one another’ verses in the Bible that instruct us on how to live with and treat each other.  While meditating on how much I matter to God, it occurred to me that all those ‘one another’ verses not only show how we are to treat others, but it’s also how God wants others to treat us.

We matter so much to God that over and over He tells people how He wants us to be treated. 

He wants us to be forgiven.  He wants us to be spoken to kindly in ways that will encourage us.  He wants others to be patient with us.

God wants others to bear your burdens because you matter to Him.

He wants others to be at peace with you because you matter to Him.

God wants others to be devoted to you in love because you matter to Him.

God shows how much we matter to Him in many ways and I encourage you to give that some thought, but also please consider that you matter so much to God that He’s written a letter to the rest of the world showing how He wants you to be treated.
